Housed in the former Lens-Vernescu Palace (built in 1821 and redesigned in 1887 by the famous Romanian architect Ion Mincu), Casa Vernescu is one of the finest restaurants in Bucharest.
Favourite dishes are, Vernescu Duet (duck breast and goose liver carpaccio served with red wine and honey sauce, walnuts and walnut oil), Veal Cutlet Mata Hary (veal cutlet, flambeed with Armagnac, served with natural sauce) and Fire Surprise (hot chocolate served with vanilla ice-cream).
