Bucharest Travel Guide

Known for its wide, tree-lined boulevards, glorious Belle Époque buildings and a reputation for the high life (which in the 1900s earned its nickname of “Little Paris”), Bucharest, Romania's largest city and capital, is today a bustling metropolis.

About Bucharest

Bucharest covers an area of 587 square miles (1521 square Km.) and is estimated to have a population of 2.6 million people, being the 6th largest city in the European Union. It is one of the main industrial centres and transportation hubs of Eastern Europe.

Bucharest Mall

Bucharest Mall   Bucharest Mall is a modern shopping mall that opened in 1999. The building in which it is located has a bit of history. It is part of a series built all around the city at Ceausescu order. They were intended to be used as produce markets.

The building got a good facial and today it looks a lot like a US mall. It has over 70 stores spread over 4 levels, a large supermarket, a food court with over 20 restaurants, a multiplex cinema, a video games arcade and many other facilities.
